The Texas Hill Country is a favorite with cycling enthusiasts.

Wimberley is located in the Hill Country along the eastern edge of the Edwards Plateau. In spring and fall, several organized tours are sponsored along these roads and are popular with those who enjoy the special challenge and reward of cycling over Hill Country terrain. All roads leaving Wimberley Valley lead uphill, and start with a long, gradual uphill grade. Several roads cross Onion Creek, one of the longest and prettiest creeks in central Texas. Terrain: rolling hills, with one big climb on RM 165.

Roads: moderate to heavy traffic on the roads around Dripping Springs (RM 12, RM 150, and US 290). RM 3237 may have some traffic, especially on weekends. Otherwise, quiet country roads with light traffic
