Wimberley, Texas

Established in 1848, this picturesque village is a resort and retirement area on R.M. 12 in the beautiful Central Texas Hill Country north of San Marcos. Visitors to the area are entranced by cool, shady pools beneath towering cypress trees, the cascading Blanco River and sparkling Cypress Creek, rolling green meadows and majestic hills. In abundance are white-tailed deer and other wildlife, wildflowers, recreational communities, vacation resorts and youth camps. Popular activities include climbing, hiking, fishing, swimming, boating, golf, tennis, arts and crafts, and camping. Wimberley is the home of many artists and authors.

DIRECTIONS TO WIMBERLEY:

From Austin: From I-35 travel south to San Marcos and take the Wimberley Ranch Road 12 exit (exit 205).  Ranch Road 12 goes through San Marcos and is also called Hopkins Street.  You will cross the San Marcos River and pass the court house on the square.  After the court house stay in the right hand lane through two stop lights.  At the third stop light turn right onto Ranch Road 12.  There will be a sign that says "Wimberley."  Stay on Ranch Road 12 for approximately 15 miles to Wimberley.  After you pass Exxon and Sac-N-Pac veer right at the "Y".  This is still Ranch Road 12  This will take you into the heart of downtown Wimberley.  After reaching downtown Wimberley (don't blink it is not big!) RR 12 veers right and you go over the Cypress Creek Bridge.  You will go past the stop light at River Road; you will see Brookshire Grocery Store to your right (with a Conoco gas station).  You will reach your 2nd light at another "Y".  Stay to the right and continue on RR 12.  Go approximately ¾ of a mile and go over Cypress Creek again.  Immediately to your left you will see the large Homestead sign and a street labeled with two signs; Hillsedge and Scudder Lane, Turn Left!   Turn left into the 4th and/or 5th driveway (there is an American Flag and/or a green sign saying The Homestead.)   Your cabins are labeled with signs giving the name of the cabins.  Cabin's 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are on the creek. Cabin's 6 and 7 are just off creek.  Please go straight into your cabin, your keys and welcome booklet are on the living room table.  Relax and enjoy!

From Dallas/FTW or North Austin:  From I-35 travel south to Austin and take the 290 West fly over just South of Austin.  Follow 290 West all the way to Dripping Springs.  When you get into Dripping Springs the first light is RR 12 (Home Depot is to your left.)  Turn left onto Ranch Road 12.  There will be a sign that says "Wimberley."  Stay on Ranch Road 12 for approximately 15 miles to Wimberley.  You will see a "Woodcreek entrance sign" and a Blanco Bank to your Right.  Approximately ¼ miles you will see a "Welcome to Wimberley sign" and immediately after that you turn right!  Make a right onto Hillsedge/Scudder Lane. Turn left into the 4th and/or 5th driveway (there is an American Flag and/or a green sign saying The Homestead.)   Your cabins are labeled with signs giving the name of the cabins.  Cabin's 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 are on the creek. Cabin's 6 and 7 are just off creek.  Please go straight into your cabin, your keys and welcome booklet are on the living room table.  Relax and enjoy!
